Hemp2Wellness FAQS

Hemp, a variety of cannabis sativa, is a tremendously versatile plant containing only trace levels of the psychoactive cannabinoid THC. This means it’s 100% legal to buy hemp products in the UK. Hemp was one of the first plants to be cultivated by humans for its super strong fibre, nutritious seeds and until 70 years ago, would have been a vital part of our diet. Not only that, for thousands of years hemp was used in folk medicine, along with other plants and herbs found in nature. For more info about the history of hemp, check out this article.

The hemp plant contains hundreds of special compounds called cannabinoids. Some cannabinoids only become activated when they are exposed to heat, like CBD for instance. But there is also a lot to be said for the acid cannabinoids like CBDA which are only present in raw hemp. It’s a bit like the nutritional difference between raw and cooked food; in raw hemp – all the cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, vitamins and minerals are preserved.

Hemp oil and hemp seed oil are often used interchangeably, but technically they are different. Hemp oil refers to the oil extracted from the whole hemp plant – i.e. from the flowers, leaves and stalks. It contains all the wonderful active ingredients in the hemp plant such as cannabinoids like CBD, CBDA and minor cannabinoids, plus terpenes (the aromatic oils that have interesting properties in their own right), as well as flavonoids, antioxidants and other cofactors. Hemp seed oil is extracted from the seeds of the hemp plant. So, while they don’t contain cannabinoids or terpenes, they are high in both essential fatty acids (Omega 3 and 6) and vitamin E. That’s why hemp seed oil is a vital ingredient in our hemp body range.

CBD, otherwise known as Cannabidiol, is a type of compound found in hemp called a cannabinoid. Non-psychoactive in nature, CBD is the subject of hundreds of scientific studies, although so far very few have been on humans. CBD has been found safe and non-toxic by the World Health Organisation and is legally sold worldwide as a nutritional supplement. Most CBD is sold as CBD oil or whole plant CBD oil. This usually means that CBD oil contains not only CBD, but also other minor cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids. It is normally mixed with a carrier oil like hemp seed oil, olive oil or coconut oil.

If you examined freshly picked hemp or cannabis sativa, you would find very little CBD. Instead there would be an abundance of CBDA – which is CBD’s acidic precursor. That’s because CBDA is transformed into CBD through the heat process known as decarboxylation.

However, CBDA is an interesting cannabinoid in its own right. Indeed, some people prefer taking a nutritional supplement that contains CBDA like our Raw Hemp Capsules as they contain the full spectrum of active hemp ingredients. Like CBD, CBDA is not psychoactive.

For more information about CBDA, check out this in depth article.

Yes, CBD oil is legal as long as it is extracted from hemp plants with less than 0.2% THC.

None of our products will get you high or stoned because they contain less than 0.2% THC, the psychoactive compound in cannabis.

We cannot make any claims about CBD for any specific health conditions. However, many people find CBD oil gives their wellbeing a general boost, possibly because CBD has been found to support the body’s endocannabinoid system.

Our Raw Hemp Capsules contain raw hemp juice, which means the raw hemp material has not been through the heat or decarboxylation process. As a result, our raw hemp capsules do not contain CBD, but are abundant in CBDA (6.9mg per capsule).

Hemp2wellness CBD oil comes in three strengths: 5%, 10%, 15%, 25% and 35% CBD. Our CBD oils are derived from organic hemp and come with third party lab tests that show not only the amount of CBD it contains, but that it is free from pesticides, mould and heavy metals.

This rather depends on how much CBD oil you take in one day. But 10ml of CBD oil contains approximately 180/200 drops. So, depending on your dosage this gives you an idea of how long the CBD oil lasts.

The best way to take CBD oil or CBD tinctures is placing the liquid under the tongue and holding for 1 minute. This guarantees the best rates of absorption in the body as the CBD oil or CBD tincture can get straight into the bloodstream through the capillaries under the tongue.

If you follow the above instructions and take the tincture under the tongue, you should notice the effects almost immediately, although sometimes it can take up to half an hour to take effect.

These are two totally different products. Our Hemp2Wellness Tincture is made from raw hemp juice, so it contains an abundance of CBDA and a full spectrum of other essential nutrients. It is also water soluble and has a milder taste than CBD oil. CBD oil contains CBD, and because it has been heated, there is no CBDA.

This really comes down to taste and preference. Many people prefer to take capsules because we’re more used to taking nutritional supplements, vitamins and minerals in this way. Each of our capsules contain 6.9mg of CBDA. However, the tincture offers the best absorption rate as when taken sublingually, it can pass directly into the bloodstream. That said, we get positive customer feedback about both products.

Many people ask us about if hemp cream for psoriasis or eczema is a good idea. We cannot make any medical claims about our hemp products, but we do know there are many hemp seed oil benefits for the skin. That’s because hemp seed oil, one of the main ingredients in our hemp body range, contains essential fatty acids (Omega 3 and 6) and vitamin E which have been found to soothe inflammation and nourish the skin. We have received some great customer feedback but recommend doing your own research if you are thinking about buying hemp for your skin condition.

Apply the lotion to the affected area using the fingertips. Make skin to skin contact by just using the fingertips. Move the cream around (without rubbing in) the affected area for between 30 seconds to 1 minute.  For well-established pain do this for 1 minute. After doing this for up to 1 minute, rub it in. Following the above instructions will result in obtaining the maximum effect from the lotion.

These instructions should also be followed for skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis. Always do a 24hr patch test.
